Meet Kirsty
Welcome – I'm glad you're here.
I’m Kirsty - psychologist and director of River & Stone Psychology.
My approach is grounded in psychological science and enriched by holistic and body-based practices. I care deeply about holding space for people in a way that feels respectful, attuned, and empowering.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult season or seeking meaningful change, therapy can help you come home to yourself — slowly, kindly, and with curiosity.
Credentials & Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (University of Melbourne) and am fully registered with AHPRA.
My experience includes:
Working with young people in community and educational settings, including headspace and the University of Melbourne
Supporting women’s mental health at The Royal Women’s Hospital
Providing psychological therapy in private practice across the lifespan
I’ve also trained in trauma-informed, nervous system-aware yoga and meditation practices, and integrate this knowledge into my therapeutic approach when it serves the client’s process.
How I Work
I draw on evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches, and blend them with somatic and nervous system-informed practices when appropriate.
Some sessions might be practical and skill-focused; others more spacious and reflective. We’ll move at your pace - collaboratively, gently, and with care for your whole self.
I aim to offer a space where insight, emotion, and embodied experience can all be welcomed - so that healing isn’t just something we talk about, but something you feel and live into.
Why River & Stone?
The name River & Stone Psychology reflects both my personal values and my therapeutic philosophy. Like water and stone, healing often requires both flow and grounding:
The river reminds us of movement, flexibility, and the ability to find new ways forward.
The stone represents steadiness, strength, and the importance of a grounded foundation.
Please feel welcome to get in touch if you’d like to learn more or explore whether we might be a good fit to work together.
